The History of the Hidden Object Game Genre
Mystery Case Files: Huntsville Released:11/14/05

Hidden Object Games are the newest and hottest genre in downloadable games. This genre all started with the Big Fish Games Studio release of Mystery Case Files: Huntsville back in November of 2005. It's highly addictive, once you've started you won't want to quit until the last object is found!

Our amazing collection of Hidden Object Games arranged in chronological order of release:

2006
Mystery Case Files: Prime Suspects
Released:4/7/06

Hidden Expedition: Titanic
Released:7/22/06
This was my first experience with the genre, and it's the reason for my hidden object addiction!

Mystery Solitaire: Secret Island
Released:11/1/06
I still play this one, it's a great way to keep my mind busy while I watch tv LOL

Travelogue 360: Paris
Released:11/3/06
This was the very first hidden object to use the pan cam view of 360 degrees. Took a bit of getting used to, but wow! What an incredible piece of work!

Mystery Case Files: Ravenhearst
Released:12/14/06

Re: The History of the Hidden Object Game Genre (2007)
2007
Paparazzi
Released:1/14/07
Cute graphics, and yet another "take" on the hidden object game with a bit of a twist thrown in for fun!

Dream Day: Wedding
Released:2/8/07
I wonder if they knew this would be one of their most anticipated sequel games... this is the first of three in a series (so far)! The quality of the graphics in these games never ceases to amaze me. Props to the artists that work so very hard on all these games!

Abra Academy
Released:3/16/07
So cute... I love this one just cuz it's fun, and introduces yet another different way to play the hidden object game!

Hide and Secret
Released:3/17/07
OMG! A hidden object game I haven't tried? Can't be!

Magic
Academy

Released:3/20/07
More cute graphics, again raising the expectations of the hidden object game fans... we have grown to love the clean, crisp graphics!

Agatha Christie: Death on the Nile
Released:4/16/07
The classic novel was worked into this game very well, I appreciated that as a long time Agatha Christie fan. Don't you just love it when you're addictions cross breed into something this cool? LOL Hidden object, AND Agatha Christie! Woot!

Big City Adventure: San Francisco
Released:4/20/07
Another ground breaking game, starting another series of hidden object "explore a new city" game. I've never been to San Fran, but from what I hear, they got it all pretty accurate!

Released:5/8/07

Hidden Expedition: Everest

Released:6/3/07

The Magicians Handbook: Cursed Valley
Released:6/7/07

G.H.O.S.T. Hunters: The Haunting of Majesty Manor

Released:7/16/07
The second in the "Dream Day" series!

Interpol: The Trail of Dr. Chaos
Released:8/3/07

Forgotten Riddles: The Mayan Princess
Released:9/13/07
I enjoyed this one. I was intrigued by the artwork, so put aside my time management game addiction to get back to my love for the hidden object games. Again, this one introduced a new approach to finding the objects... Riddles! No text list of objects to find... you have to solve the riddles to figure out what to look for. That, or match the outline only shape to a hidden object. I can't resist a good riddle to get the old brain moving!

Re: The History of the Hidden Object Game Genre
The Scruffs
Released:9/27/07
Yes, once again, it was the graphics that pulled me into this one... that, and a renewed addiction and NEED to find hidden objects. LOL If you like alternative cartoons like Family Man, or South Park, you'll get a kick out of this one (minus the adult themes of course).

Pirateville
Released:10/05/07

Abra Academy: Returning Cast
Released:10/11/07

Hidden Relics
Released:10/26/07

Val'Gor: Dark Lord of Magic
Released:10/29/07

Hawaiian Explorer: Pearl Harbor
Released:11/3/07

Mystery Case Files: Madame Fate
Released:11/7/07
The artwork in this game is theatre quality. No, really. The voice acting, the craftsmanship... the whole thing is a sight to behold. Oh yeah, and the hidden object part is really fun too... some of the puzzles inbetween levels are really hard, but there's an online forum available for help, and a strategy guide is available also!

Lucky Clover
Released:11/12/07

Amazing Adventures: The Lost Tomb
Released:11/19/07

Agatha Christie: Peril at End House
Released:11/21/07

Christmasville
Released:11/18/07
I couldn't resist the cute, colorful graphics, holiday theme and music... and hey, it's got an abominable snowman! LOL

Holly: A Christmas Tale
Released:1129/07

Mystery in London
Released:12/13/07
This is another of the pan cam 360 degree games. A well put together game, and very challenging. If you enjoy the 3D take on hidden objects, this is a must have!

Dream Day First Home
Released:12/20/07
The third in the Dream Day series

2008
